The Lighthouse Club
The Lighthouse Club is known, recognized and regarded with respect and affection throughout every branch of the construction industry, and RIFT are proud to support the organisation.
The Lighthouse Club raises money to assist anyone in the construction industry who has a financial need, for example if the family breadwinner dies or is forced off work through illness.
Help is available to all workers (and their families) who are, or have been involved in the construction industry for example plumbers, bricklayers, plant operators, and scaffolders.
How the lighthouse club helped James
James made a claim with RIFT and shortly afterwards was diagnosed with cancer. Due to the fact that he had time off for his treatment, he only received statutory sick pay and was struggling financially.
RIFT successfully claimed £3,681.44 for him and as a gesture of goodwill waived their fee.
James had to eventually give up work due to his diagnosis and at this stage RIFT suggested that James get in touch with the lighthouse club.
A representative from the lighthouse club visited James within week and within 4-5 weeks James started receiving financial help from the lighthouse club.
James is now on the road to recovery and will be returning to work over the next few months. James will be partaking in a charity walk in September 2012 for Ayrshire Cancer support and RIFT will be sponsoring him.
James said he cannot thank RIFT enough or the lighthouse club for the support he received through this very stressful period of his life.
